Tiny gold tablet breaks recordWednesday, 4th January 2006 (5109 views) A US couple have made it into the record books by crafting a microscopic gold tablet containing encryptions of the Hindu scripture Bhagavad Gita, WebIndia123.com reports. The 24-carat gold tablet measures just ten-millimetres square and is the smallest ever production of the holy scripture, according to the Limca Book or Records. The miniscule masterpiece was assembled over the course of two years by Pawan Sinha and Pamela Lipson - experts in the field of visual neuro-science and image analysis software, respectively. A powerful microscope is needed to read its gold etchings, although the 700 shlokas recited to Arjuna before the Mahabharata War are clearly visible if you zoom in far enough. Despite the commendable achievement, the gold tablet is still four times the size of the world's smallest ever Bible. That record was set in 2001 by a couple who produced a tablet measuring just five millimetres square.
