'Invisible gold braces'Thursday, 14th June 2007 (3365 views) New dentistry to fit gold braces behind teeth instead of in front of them could spell happy news for young children worldwide, it has been revealed.Celebrities such as Sadie Frost and model Kelly Brook have opted for the 'invisible' treatment, according to the Daily Mail. The newspaper reports that dentists have come up with the technique, in which alloy made from nine-carat gold can be used to correct the teeth from behind - and can later be recycled into jewellery. "Increasingly people prefer to have their problem treated discreetly rather than trying to halt a smile because they know they are going to look like Betty with conventional braces," Dr Asif Chatoo co-founder of London Lingual Orthodontic Clinic told the newspaper. Dr Chatoo's London Lingual Orthodontic Clinic specialises in the invisible gold brace technique which costs £80 for an initial consultation, while prices for braces range from £4,000 to £8,000.
