New Industrial Applications for Gold - Conferences
World Gold Council is the main organiser of a series of
international events aimed at uncovering new industrial
applications for gold. This series includes the successful
and stimulating 'Catalytic Gold' conferences held in Cape
Town, South Africa in April 2001 and 'New Industrial Applications
for Gold' in Vancouver, Canada, in 2003 and builds on the
more general meeting on 'Progress in the Science and Technology
of Gold' which took place in Hanau, Germany in June 1996.
The most recent and largest event, the 'Gold 2006' conference,
took place in Limerick, Ireland in September 2006 and covered
all aspects of the science, technology and applications
of gold under four principal themes; Catalysis, Chemistry,
Materials, and Nanotechnology. We believe that the gold
R & D community needs a dedicated forum to discuss the
latest advances in gold science and technology and to ensure
that this new emerging science is brought to the attention
of industry in order to encourage its commercial exploitation
to the benefit of mankind.
